Happy New Year Smash🥂

Ine question please: the chart with the VIX is 1 minute timeframe? And the ViIX is the December or January contract? When do you change the VIX contract? Thk s Smash

CBOE:VIX. TradingView has no real-time data for CBOE:VIX, but you can use the ticker TVC:VIX instead. It's free and updates in real-time. The timeframe for this chart is 3 minutes, but the key factor to consider is the correlation between the ES and VIX, rather than the timeframe itself.

Thk s Smash. I use Sierra and I have real time for VIX CBOE. So I look for the current contract

Thk s fir all!🙏🏻

And same happened when broke high on ES with no new low on VIX

Are you using bookmap? If so is it helpful?

This is a liquidity heatmap created in Sierra Chart trading platform. It's a nice way to visualize the order flow in real time.

I really like the way it looks. I see what you are saying. Do you watch it live?

Just subscribed to your Substack (as I randomly stumbled upon one of your charts).

Bravo on your work and I look forward to reading and possibly taking a stab at Sierra again in the near future. I found myself always reinventing the wheel (and with lackluster charts due to my limited knowledge of the platform) vs spending my time focused on markets and trading. (This likely is due to the crazy flexibility of Sierra, sometimes less options are a good thing for me! Lol)

Question: do you trade off of Sierra or just use for charting and execute elsewhere?

I was looking into setting up Sierra and/or Jigsaw via Tradeovate’s feed but it seems Sierra users really love their Denali feed... Looked into Infiniti, Optimus, Tradestation, AMP, etc. but still evaluating. Currently setup with Tradeovate and TDA (don’t judge me!). The other item I am trying to resolve is wanting server side orders vs software side, I have been burned 1-2x in the past due to failures and wanting as bulletproof of a system as possible.

Thank you in advance for any replies and sorry for the newb questions.
