The most important thing is the order flow activity around the level. Sometimes the interesting activity occurs before the level is tagged, sometimes at the level, and sometimes after it.
Because of that, I don’t treat levels as exact prices — they’re more of a reference area, where context and the order flow response matter far more than a specific number of ticks.
Generally, the higher the volatility, the more wiggle room is needed around each level.
