I took a nice fade today from B period with your Smash level as stop reference & weakness confirmed by VIX worked pretty well. Thank you. But not having knowledge of order flow sucks when VIX/ES correlation doesn’t work. I have been noticing in recent times VIX eventually works may be late( a day later) so closing near 20s, do you consider it an early indication of more weakness?

I start fresh each day with new numbers. Today's noteworthy events: VIX closed above the resistance level (19.45) and ES closed below the last intraday downside target (4042). That hasn't happened for a while. It remains to be seen if sellers can get a continuation to the downside. With a b-shape profile (long-liquidation) in an uptrend, sellers want a fairly quick downside continuation to avoid getting trapped.

Rather calling it as early indication better word would be not finishing the auction

Cleaning poor low & poor structure in OVN, does it count?

Smashelito's avatar

Ideally, it should be done during RTH, but sometimes cleaning it up in the ON session is sufficient.

This was so useful today to catch a long by not filling the poor structure in OVN

Traders like to make fun of the ON session, but it actually offers excellent trading opportunities, and is often very mechanical.

Are you able to share the chartbook?

Smash, on Sierra, are you using CFE --> VXH23_FUT_CFE / March 2023 to get your VIX data?

Thanks for the commentary on the trades you take. I find this very helpful. With the reversal from the ONL, was there anything specific from the footprint that encouraged you to hold the trade until the 4070s? Do you just stay in the trade until price hits next target or a break even stop? And one one more question if I may--how strict are you when it comes to entering a trade at or near your levels? Do you have a +/- number of points you're willing to enter near a level of interest? Thanks again!
